New Releases!

Boys from County Hell – Some burly road workers accidently (sure!) awaken a nasty vampire. Only in Ireland is there a county called Hell.

Crime Story – Tough guy Richard Dreyfuss (hahaha!) seeks revenge on some punks who stole his stuff.

Deep Cover – Pretty solid cops and drug robbers tale with Laurence Fishburne and Jeff Goldblum from back in the day gets the Criterion DVD treatment.

Demonic – Fella who made the great District 9 tries his hand at the scary demon-type film.

Down a Dark Stairwell – Searing doc about a cop shooting a black guy in NY in 2014. You can imagine how that went over.

Free Guy – Good enough comedy with Ryan Reynolds as a video game character come to life. Enjoyable enough until the schmaltzy ending with all the “discovering I love you” horseshit. Jodie Comer steals the show. But overall it makes for a nice light snack.

The Green Knight – Epic medieval tale of Sir Gawain and his quest to make friends (not really) with the fabled Green Knight. This one looks like a banger!

Midnight in the Switchgrass – The moment you’ve all been waiting for – Bruce Willis teaming up with Megan Fox to solve some crimes!

Roadrunner – Very good (and sad) doc about a man admired by many (me included – he’s always on my “3 people to have a dinner with” list), Anthony Bourdain.

Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins – A guy with, presumably, snake eyes, does some actiony stuff in the GI Joe world (Blu Ray coming soon)

Whitstable Pearl – Nice-looking BBC affair about a restaurant owner/private detective solving a murder in a small English town.
