The Black Dog Newsletter January 22 – 28 “Funny Man Gone Edition!”

Sad news about the passing of Terry Jones today. I grew up on Monty Python (my kid loves them now as well) – Holy Grail, Life of Brian, Meaning of Life etc. So many great laughs. And that scene in the restaurant! (caution – involves geysers of vomit!) His comedy was not wafer thin.

On another note – we will soon have a couple of Blu Ray players for rent at each location! We’re just waiting on some HDMI cables and we’ll be good to go. If you’ve been thinking about getting one, now you can check it out and see what all the hub-bub is about. I have one and love it!

One more note, I promise – we should have the following films on the shelves tomorrow. Purolator was late getting them to us this week due to inclement weather, locusts and/or poison monkeys.

New Releases!

Harriet – Bio-pic of Harriet Tubman who, after escaping slavery in the good ole southern US, helped to free hundreds more. Hero. Originally I heard she was going to played by Scarlett Johansson.

I See You – Horror chiller mystery finds a small town detective being plagued by strange occurrences (flying monkeys?) as he investigates a missing child.

Motherless Brooklyn – Ed Norton stars, writes and directs this gumshoe effort about a detective with Tourette’s. This could go either way – be affecting and good or cringy and yikes.

Parasite – Been looking forward to this number for quite sometime. Lots of Oscar buzz and what not. I’m sure that you’ll love it, as will I!

Terminator: Dark Fate – The whole gang is back – Arnie, Linda, Ed, J-Cam, that other guy – for another kick at the old rusty Terminator can. Is it any good? Don’t ask me!

Coming Soon!

Doctor Sleep
Keeping the Faith Season 2
Greener Grass
Last Christmas
The Good Liar
Fleabag Season 1

We put together a best of the decade list because we love lists! We currently have 85 listed here but I think that there’s room for more. What’s missing?

Till next week, my lovelies!
