Black Dog Newsletter June 6 – 12 “Interesting Things Edition!”
So some of you may remember a former Black Dogger who goes by the name of Keir-la. She was a staple behind the Cambie desk for many years before she moved onto to bigger and better things. One of those things included writing books. She is hard at work on her second one which is about famed Warren Oates flick, Cockfighter. The reason I mention this is she has an Indigogo campaign to help finance it and I’m here to pass on the important information.
Speaking of important information, our 4th episode of Black Dog After Dark is up and ready to amuse and inform your precious ears. Monkey Shines is the film we riff on. Find out whether or not if it it holds up here!
New Releases
An Ordinary Man – Sir Ben Kingsley is a war criminal in hiding who’s only contact is his maid. Drama and tension, I presume, ensue.
Sherlock Gnomes – True story about the time garden gnomes, Gnomeo and Juliet, hired private investigator, Sherlock Gnomes, to investigate the disappearance of other gnomes around town. True story.
The Strangers: Prey at Night – Sequel to the movie called The Strangers finds a family staying in a secluded trailer park being attacked by masked psychopaths. Good times.
Tomb Raider – Alicia Vikander takes a stab at the Lara Croft adventure movies in this, from what I’ve heard, fairly good flick that finds her on the hunt for her missing dad. Bonus points for having Walton Goggins in it!
Wonderstruck – Tale of two kids – one in 1927 and one in 1977 – who are both searching for some missing folks. Possibly Lara Croft’s dad? Stars someone or something called Oakes Fegley.
