Just wanted to apologize regarding the delay in getting the much-ballyhooed new website in your eyeballs. We’ve had a few bugs crawling around inside the mainframe (that’s how it works, right?) but we should have it all fixed and ready to go real soon like.
We’re just putting together the Food Bank Movie Marathon taking place on October 29th in the shop. Dylan, Alex and I will be subjecting ourselves to watching all 7 Nightmare on Elm Street films to raise money for the food bank. There will be prizes and giveaways from local merchants to all who donate either online or in-store. If you have something cool and special you’d like to contribute as prizes, hit us up.
Censor – Enid, a film censor, sets out to find her missing sister after viewing a strangely familiar nasty video. Heard good things!
Charlatan – From Agnieszka Holland come this tale of a famous herbal healer and his dealings with Nazis and Communists. Won a pile of awards.
The Comeback Trail – Some old coots – DeNiro, Freeman, Jones – get involved in some insurance/movie making scheme in this comedy of sorts.
Cold Case Hammarskjöld – Danish director Mads Brügger and Swedish private investigator Göran Björkdahl try to solve the mysterious death of Dag Hammarskjöld, Secretary-General of the United Nations. Things get strange as they dig deeper in this well-received doc.
The Vigil – Dude keeping a “vigil” over a dead member of the Orthodox Jewish community gets a little more than he bargained for in this nifty little horror number.
Violation – Tough, intense Canadian effort finds a troubled woman’s trust being horribly betrayed by her sister and brother-in-law. Triggering warnings abound. Blu ray only.
